Greeting Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to convey the love, grace, and compassion of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in a warm, heartfelt and genuine way to all who may enter CCNB; to deliberately employ greeters as a ministry beyond hospitality in a living expression of the love of Christ.

In doing so we hope to reflect to the world the joy of serving God. The joy that flows from:

  • Pleasing the Lord (Ephesians 6:6)
  • Growing more like the Master as you do His will (Romans 8:29)
  • Helping others come to know Jesus Christ and live for Him (John 12:1-8)
  • Knowing that, as you serve the Lord, nothing happens to you except what God ordains (Philippians 1:12)
  • Experiencing wonderful fellowship with other people (Mark 10:30)
  • Knowing that your service for Christ will last eternally (I John 2:17)

People encountered in the ministry will typically speak to a few different situations:

  • Those who do not know Jesus, are new to the area or infrequent visitors who are searching for a gospel fellowship - they may have transitional difficulties, e.g.. divorce, addiction, alienation, illness;
  • Those from the area who are looking for a new church fellowship to meet some un-met need;
  • Those who are frequent attendees but may not know Jesus;
  • Those who are committed to the fellowship and to the disciplines of spiritual maturity and to using their gifts in the body.

Commitment: To serve rotationally one Sunday every 4-6 weeks and occasionally to act as a substitute, e.g. sickness and vacations. Greeters will be asked to read Calvary Chapel Distinctives by Chuck Smith in order to better explain CCNB's ministry and emphasis as well as On Being A Servant by Warren Wiersbe.

Duties:  Warmly welcoming to our church home would entail praying for God's Spirit to prepare hearts to worship, assisting and directing guests to enhance their worship experience, provide encouragement or support to the downhearted, introducing/connecting people with the pastor, elders, counselors and others, familiarizing them with the facility and the various ministries, directing them to the proper classes, e.g. Sunday School classes for their children, interacting with the hospitality team and simply smiling, loving people and making them feel valued and appreciated in Christ.

Just complete the application and put it in the wooden offerings box and someone will contact you.
